There are several key points that you must take note of:
Spectating
The next two weekends are going to be very, very busy, particularly sessions 5, 7 & 9, with 380, 412 & 329 swimmers on poolside. Obviously, with only 220 seats available in the spectator gallery at Braunstone, we will not be able to fit everyone in. We are therefore asking for your help and cooperation in enabling everyone to have an opportunity to see their swimmer compete. Please liaise with your friends within and across the club(s) to swap in and out when you have seen your own swimmer's race.
LASA are actively encouraging the exchanging of wrist bands.
Session 7 Event Order Change
To help with the numbers both on poolside and in the gallery the order of events in Session 7 has been altered from that originally published. The schedule has now been updated and is available to view on the Counties page. This change does not impact on anyone's availability nor our license as they are still in the same session. The order is now:
Event 402 - Open/Male 50m Freestyle
Event 401 - Female 100m Backstroke
Event 404 - OpenMale 200m Breaststroke
Event 403 - Female 50m Butterfly
The finals remain the same as published
There are a significant number of swimmers that are only competing in Event 402, therefore it is anticipated that following this event, subject to not making a final, they will head home thereby relieving the pressure on the pool deck and gallery.
Poolside Chairs
For these busy session (5, 7,& 9) chairs will only be permitted in the Community Pool area, not the Main Pool area, and on the proviso they are kept within the Club's designated area, Please see the Poolside Plan for where your club is situated.
Arriving at Braunstone LC
There are special arrangements for when you arrive at the Leisure Centre this weekend.
Swimmers and Spectators are not allowed through to the Changing Village and Gallery until the Leisure Centre give the OK.
To avoid crowding and congestion in the foyer area or having to wait outside you will be directed to wait in an area of the Sport Hall until the Leisure Centre Staff are ready.
Once the go ahead has been given swimmers will be called to the changing rooms. When all swimmers have vacated the Sport Hall, parents/carers etc will be invited to form an orderly queue at the Spectator Desk to purchase wrist bands for entry to the Gallery.
Remember, not everyone will get in, so have a look at the Programme (now published) and determine at what point you need to be in the Gallery and liaise with others to swap seats at the appropriate time.
This process will be used prior to Sessions 5 on Sat 31st & Session 7 on Sun 1st Feb. It will not be required for Sessions 6 & 8.
For the Saturday the assembly point is Courts 3 and 4 in the Sports Hall. For the Sunday the assembly point is Courts 5 and 6 in the Sport Hall
Please respect other users of the Sports Hall, there will be a number of activities taking place while you wait. Please ensure you stay within the designated area and do not cause disruption to or interference with those activities.
