LASA Trophies – Nominations Invited

LASA awards a number of Trophies during the season, but you may not be aware of them or how they are awarded.

There are two trophy types:

• Trophies awarded based on swim times achieved, particularly relevant during the Age Groups and County Championships

• Trophies awarded based on nominations for the season (1st September - 31st August), voted upon during the November AGM.

As the end of the 2025/26 season is upon us it is time to submit your nominations, which should reach us before midnight 30th September 2026.

Trophies will be presented during the Age Group & County Championships with the exception of the Coach of the Year which will be presented at the Young Teams Relay Gala 28th November 2026.

The awards are:

LASA Coach of the Year

This is awarded to a Leicestershire SE registered coach who has made an outstanding commitment to coaching within their club and has supported and inspired athletes to achieve their personal best. They may also have provided help to mentor and support other coaches and aim to increase participation within the sport whilst being able to demonstrate improved performance of individuals or teams. *This trophy will be presented at the Young Teams Gala in November.

The Tony Gibson Trophy - Male/Open - for the fastest 100m Long Course in the season

This is awarded to a Leicestershire Male/Open swimmer returning the highest World Aquatics (FINA) Points for the 100 metres Freestyle long course between 1st September 2025 and 31st August 2026,  as recorded on the Swim England Rankings database

G.E.McCOY CUP - Female -  for the fastest 100m Long Course in the season

This is awarded to a Leicestershire Female swimmer returning the highest World Aquatics (FINA) Points for the 100 metres Freestyle long course between 1st September 2025 and 31st August 2026,  as recorded on the Swim England Rankings database

Trevor Henson Trophy  - for International Representation

This is awarded to a Leicestershire swimmer for International Representation i.e. Selected to represent your Country during the swimming year ended 31st August 2026.

Swimmers Of The Year - Male/Open & Female

These are awarded to a Leicestershire Male/Open and a Leicestershire Female swimmer based on effort, achievement, improvement and commitment observed during the swimming year ending 31st August.

LASA Masters Swimmers Trophies  - Male/Open & Female

These awards are to reflect the achievement of individuals competing during the swimming year ended 31st August 2026 with outstanding effort and achievement that would add distinction and recognition to the name of the nominee.
